1982-1984

As Jimmy D'Angelo and Jamie Pease were prolific songwriters and clearly the definitive sound of the band August, Scott Hanley left August to put together an original project to sharpen his songwriting skills.

The original lineup, circa 1982, was: Steve Neitz (bass, lead vocals), Scott Hanley (guitar, vocals), Aart Knyff (guitar, vocals), Bobby O'Brien (drums, vocals). The original lineup recorded the Hanley song "I Want You" which was produced by Hirsh Gardner (from the band New England) and that song held the #1 position for 5 consecutive weeks on the WBCN top 3 local songs.

1984-1985

In 1984, drummer Justin Santos replaced original drummer Bobby O'Brien and the band played throughout the Boston area and were regulars at The Channel, Bunratty's, The Rat, Scotch 'n Sounds, The Paradise and many other area clubs both headlining and opening up for other acts, including a spot opening up for Blue Oyster Cult at the Worcester Centrum. In 1985, after a brief break, recorded a 10 song demo with Tim Leavitt joining the band for the recording sesssions as guitarist / keyboardist and background vocalist as Aart Kynff was working on another project at the time.
